A Mirror of Peace

“Look at a tree, a flower, a plant. Let your awareness rest upon it. How still they are, how deeply rooted in Being. Allow nature to teach you stillness.” ~ Eckhart Tolle

Engulfed in the beauty of Mother Nature, I feel the nurturing support of the Earth below me, solid, firm, yet comfortable. I’m becoming ever more sensitive to her pulsing energy as it becomes entrained with my own. Beside me, the tall wises trees stand in silence. Being in the powerful presence of these sisters is so calming. As they emanate the deep contentment of peace, I can’t help but drop into the stillness of my own centre to mirror that peace back to them. The sounds of Nature rest gently in my ears, like soothing lullabies sung softly to me by the Great Mother.

Into the Dark Night

Sometimes the only way into the light is through the darkness. Our shadows can be scary. They show up in our lives as personal crisis – a breakup, a breakdown, a betrayal, a tragic loss. We all have those moments of deep pain stabbing into our hearts, that paralysing fear that suffocates you, the unbearable grief that numbs you or that ugly side of yourself that seems to keep surfacing because you just can’t control the anger, hurt or resentment.

Often our instinct is to run in the opposite direction. But sometimes the only away around them is to run right to them. Invite them to sit down with you for tea. Becoming at home with the darkness isn’t easy. We fear that if we surrender, it may take us a place, a black hole that will consume us completely. Yet, when you do just that – stop running from your shadows and look deeper into them – you allow room for grace to enter. Creating a space for your shadows in your awareness ignites a glimmer of light, shining like a bright angelic warrior swords that cut through the hardened walls you build around your heart.

Shadow work has been a major part of my soul’s lesson this year. I’ve been coming to terms with pain, working through feelings of betrayal and working to restore my health. Peeling away the layers of ‘stuff’ bit by bit and piecing together shattered fragments. Some experiences leave lasting scars that could take a lifetime to heal. As painful as each step can be, the more I unearth, the more profound the healing I experience. That is why when I stumbled across The Wild Mystics give away for their 6 week Into the Dark Night e-course, I knew I wanted in. I’m so keen on winning this give away, I”ve been doing all I can to gain moons (points). If I get a space in this course know that it won’t be all fun and games, but I have a feeling that it will be a pretty incredible journey that will bring me closer to my essence and enrich my life in so many ways.

What is Your Art, Your Passion or Your Calling?

“Your art…is any way your unique true nature expresses itself in the world of Form. You track it by looking for moments in your life when you felt fascinated, lost in the act of creation.” ~ Martha Beck

The crisp air settles on my skin. I sit on the moist grass for my morning meditation. There’s something so etheric the early morning with its pale blue sky and birdsong. Mother Earth sings cool whispers of love. I sit, firmly rooted on the ground and I feel the peaceful Earth energy rising into my body, connecting to my heart centre and expanding my awareness.

Come rain or sunshine, this is how I begin each day. Being present in Nature is food for my soul. From as young as I can remember, I was a flower charmed nature soul. I would spend hours lost in play in gardens, parks, long rivers and in wild open velds. It’s little wonder that connecting with the Earth and harnessing inspiration, wisdom and healing energy from this Great Mother has become my ART. When I first began walking this path as a healer 2 years ago, I wasn’t sure how eco-spirituality would fit into my spiritual services, but I knew that it would happen at some stage. Now things seem to be falling into place and I am find ways to incorporate this with my other passions – spirituality and writing. I am excited about the changes that are in the works. I am excited about where this process is taking me. The BLOSSOM LIKE A FLOWER GODDESS ebook with be available for download next week. Also, In upcoming months I hope to have a few exciting new offerings to share.

In the meantime, I have a question for you dear souls.

WHAT IS YOUR ART?

What are the things that you were born to do? What are the things that you can do without even thinking about it because they resonate so closely with who you are? In her book, Finding Your Way in a Wild New World, Martha Beck describes your art as the thing that gives your soul a means to express your unique and true nature in the world. Your art is the thing that you can do with your eyes closed, because they have been such a natural part of your life.

Throughout my life, Natures has been my healing balm, writing my truest means of expression and finding my way to a spiritual path saved my life. These are things that I’ve spend more than ten thousand hours doing, things that I have deep practised. These were my clues.

What are your clues to finding who you are? Get lost in them. Be captivated by them. Continue to deep practise them. Give them space in your life. Allow your art to being you home to your Spirit. Transform you art into your life’s MASTERPIECE.
