Saturday Soulful Reading (link shares)

Happy Saturday!

I haven’t shared any links in a while, so I  thought I’d do so today. Here some blog/sites that have been a source of soul soothing nourishment for me lately:

Knitting the Wind. Doesn’t that conjure up an image of feral beauty? Sarah Elwell’s words are nothing short of that. I discovered the Knitting the Wind blog just a couple of months ago and instantly connected with Sarah’s writing and her gift for story crafting. I particularly love the beautiful collection of wild stories she’s strung together in her Driftways e-book.

This week, kindred spirit, Anne, shared a precious post about the heart healing medicine of roses. Reading this inspired me to write about the evening primroses in yesterday’s post.

Annapurna Living, which was found by Carrie-Anne Moss, is another well that has been quenching my thirsty soul with gentle and enriching insights.  Carrie-Anne’s vision is to create a space “to support and celebrate heart-centered, soulful women—artists, healers, entrepreneurs, mothers, Yogis, and any woman who nourishes, uplifts, and inspires through intentional living.” It is wonderful to see that this dream is coming into fruition.

Writer and storyweaver, Sharon Blackie, shares some fascinating content on the Re-enchanting the Earth blogsite. Her rich tales and mythlines, imbued with much spirit and wild Earth whispers are always an adventure to read.

Wishing you a restful and gentle weekend of happy reading.

3 Blogs Worth Reading

Don’t you love that moment in the day when you can just sit down with a cup of tea and read some of your favourite blogs? I most certainly do. Here are 3 blogs that I love to read when I have some down time:

The Indigo Vat: A woman after my own heart, California-based Sylvia is fascinated with Nature. I love exploring the wild space of California through the photos and stories she shares on her blog. Sylvia is a gifted writer. I am so intrigued by how she incorporates the wild whispers of Nature together with aspects of folklore into incredibly crafted tales for her letter story series. I recently received the first instalment of new The Elkline Epistles in the mail and loved every minute of reading her rich and poetic writing. Each story is a novel adventure and I cannot wait to see where Sylvia’s tales take me next.

Vanessa Carnevale: If you need writing inspiration, then Vanessa has a lot to offer you. She shares practical tips and inspiring writing prompts that are of great help when I need to get my creative juices flowing. I appreciate that unlike many writing blogs, she takes a more soulful approach to writing that resonates with my intuitively or spiritually inclined nature. When you sign up to her subscribers list, you get to download her free ‘Write with Presence’ e-book, which is a stunning and uplifting resource.

Little Forest Flower: Anne is a gentle and beautiful Norse soul whose blog posts are always so refreshing to read. Her soulful prose has a way of centring you in the mystery of the present moment. Reading her posts are a window into how she explores her relationship with the world and the essence of Goddess permeates her writing and one cannot help by feel connected to the Divine Nature. I love the honesty and authenticity of Anne’s beautiful writing. There is always so much of what she shares that resonates on a personal level for me.

Make Your life a Message of Love and Inspiration

Our purpose is not only to follow our path and be who we are, but also to have a positive impact on those around us in the process. Think of how you feel when you meet someone who inspires you. What kind of emotions do larger than life or successful people stir in you? Think of your favourite spiritual teacher or author. This people inspire us just by living their purpose and making the choice to follow their joy. You hold the same potential within you. Living your path inspires others to do the same.

Messageoflove

I believe that one of our ultimate aspirations is to touch others lives in a meaningful way and inspire them. We are one big human family. Everyone could use a little bit of inspiration now and then. Sometimes people just need someone to acknowledge them, to listen to them and to remind them of their own inner power. Other times they need food, shelter, education and practical resources.

What can you do to inspire your family and friends? How can you serve the people in your community? How can you make an impact on people or children in dire need?

A simple action has the power to cause a ripple of positive change. That action can be as small as offering a smile and a kind word, buying someone their favourite flowers or sharing a beautiful poem with them. You could help a child get an education, help out at a homeless centre or do something as drastic as travelling to places devastated be poverty, suffering or war to volunteer. It doesn’t matter how big or small the action is. The influence that it has is magnificent. This is the power that you have. Use it.
